Khanh Hoa Department of Capture Fisheries & Fisheries Resources Protection has held 80 courses on captains/chief engineers and 2,620 people have been certificated since 2011.
Besides, local authorities are cooperating with Japanese Yanmar Company to provide post-harvest technology training for fishermen.
Reportedly, at present 9,600 people are involved in offshore fishing in Khanh Hoa Province.
