A scholarship award ceremony was held for 240 students whose parents are fishermen of the 4 provinces of Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and Ninh Thuan on October 25.
The event was in the program themed “Joint effort to protect the East Sea sovereignty” launched by Tuoi Tre Newspaper in cooperation with Vietnam Students’ Association, Youth Union and Fishermen’s Association of 9 coastal cities and provinces from Quang Tri to Ninh Thuan.

Each scholarship was worth VND2.5 million for junior high school students, VND3 million for senior high school students and VND5 million for undergraduates. The scholarships were worth VND800 million in total funded by Suntory PepsiCo VN.
20 junior, 25 senior high school students; and 12 undergraduates in Khanh Hoa alone were awarded scholarships worth VND185 million in total.
