Tran Son Hai, Permanent Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee had talks with Simon van der Burg, General Consul of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City and a delegation of Dutch businesses on November 25.

Tran Son Hai introduced about the province’s outstanding socio-economic achievements, focusing on marine economic strength and potentials in tourism, shipbuilding, aquaculture, etc. He also expressed his hope that Dutch business would invest in Khanh Hoa, especially in the fields of marine ports, climate change projects and so on.
According to Simon van der Burg, Vietnam and the Netherlands are coastal countries so they share the common concern about marine port development and climate change adaptation. Therefore, there are many opportunities for investment and cooperation.
Representatives of Dutch businesses showed their interest in marine port development at Van Phong Economic Zone, cruise tourism, waste water treatment in industrial zones, a plan on the transfer of Nha Trang Port into a tourism port and labor training for key industries.
On the same day, the Dutch General Consul held a meeting between Dutch businesses and Vietnamese partners at Intercontinental Nha Trang Hotel.
