Khanh Hoa Traffic Safety Board has issued a plan to celebrate activities in response to the 2014 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in Khanh Hoa.

 

The 2014 event is scheduled to be observed on Sunday, November 16, 2014. This is the third year this event has been celebrated in Vietnam.

 

Accordingly, many activities will be held such as propaganda, candlelight ceremonies, condolences offered to victims, etc. The commemoration is to warn the society of road accident disasters, traffic accident risks and reasons;  raise public awareness of traffic rules; increase responsibilities of traffic officials; call on support and sharing from the community for loss, damage and other suffering of traffic victims and their families, according to Nguyen Xuan Chanh, Chief of Khanh Hoa Provincial Traffic Safety Board Office.

 

With the slogan “Safety is first", localities have been directed to focus on propaganda to raise public awareness of  the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in Khanh Hoa. Meetings, parades, requiems, etc will be held in many places.

 

Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training has urged the celebration of forums and dialogues at school about risks and consequences caused by traffic accidents; one minute’s silence at a flag ceremony every Monday in memory of those killed in road traffic accidents; talks, exhibitions; painting, writing contests about traffic safety, etc.

 

Besides, Khanh Hoa Traffic Safety Board, local departments, agencies; political and social organizations and benefactors will pay visits to victims and their families in financial problems. On this occasion, VND10 million support will be offered to each family of road traffic casualty. Khanh Hoa Traffic Safety Board will visit and encourage people who are being treated at Khanh Hoa General Hospital for injuries in traffic accidents.
