According to Le Xuan Than, Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, the event is expected to take place twice every 5 years to honor the achievements of scientists who have had great contribution to the provincial modernization and industrialization.
This will be also a chance for outstanding scientists and science enthusiasts to meet and share experience. Besides, the event is designed to encourage talents to reach their full potentials and contribute to the local socio-economic development.
Outstanding scientific talents working and studying in Khanh Hoa Province with great contribution to the provincial socio-economic growth are eligible for the honor ceremony.
Other eligibility requirements include at least a scientific research subject graded good at a provincial or national level; a recognized initiative; scientific work with practical socio-economic value implemented in Khanh Hoa, contributing to the provincial development; or the first prize in the scientific and technical creation contest at a provincial level or up.
Nearly 30 individuals have been chosen for the upcoming honor ceremony. They have had scientific research subjects in such fields as mechanics, traffic, health care, education, culture, society, environment and biology.
The intellectuals will be granted certificates of merit and awards. Besides, a forum will open for the recipients to express their opinions and suggestions for leaders of Khanh Hoa Province and local agencies, so that there will be more effective research and creation approaches in Khanh Hoa Province.
“The first honor ceremony will surely give us good experience for the celebration of the next event. The eligibility plans to be expanded to include workers, farmers and students with practical initiatives in social life,” adds Le Xuan Than.
