Dien An Commune Reproductive Health Care Club was founded in 2003 under an HIV/ AIDS control and prevention project to provide life skills and knowledge for young people.

When the project finished in 2008, the club was put under the management of Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union with its activities organized by the Dien An Commune Youth Union.
Over the past 10 years, the club has drawn the participation of several young people with 60 members. Le Chi Thang, who has joined the club since 2010, says, “I find the knowledge I get from the club really helpful, especially for my marriage. It helps me know how to resolve conflicts at home and build a happy family.”
Nguyen Tien Phat, who has been the club member for over 10 years, adds, “I have joined the club since its foundation day. I can have access to useful knowledge in life. My parents also support my decision.”
The club holds monthly gatherings, focusing on reproductive health care, friendship, love, martial happiness, gender equality; the law on marriage and family, HIV/AIDS prevention, etc.
In addition, the club is also an interesting playground for students. Many contests are organized as an opportunity to give voice to young people to promote responsible reproductive behaviour.

With many practical activities, the club has helped decrease and prevent early marriages and adolescent pregnancies, confirms Tra Xuan An, a propaganda official of Dien Khanh District Center for Population & Family Planning.
