Transportation businesses and coach stations in Khanh Hoa Province have made plans to add coaches to meet growing travel demand during the Lunar New Year Holiday.

According to Nguyen Cong Hai, Head of Nha Trang City Southern Coach Station, the Lunar New Year Festival often sees the increased number of passengers returning home in northern provinces, including Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Hanoi, etc. 3 transportation businesses namely Cuc Tung, Quang Hanh and Lien Hung have registered for serving the routes include with 17-20 coaches.
In addition, Khanh Hoa Department of Transport has worked with some businesses such as Phuong Trang, Huynh Gia, Mai Linh, Khanh Hoa Coach Company and Pegas Touristik Company to prepare to add coaches to serve passengers which are likely to increase sharply. The operation period for the holiday is on February 10-16.
Compared with the last period, the coach fare to Northern provinces decreases by VND100,000/ticket. Specifically, the Nha Trang – Hanoi ticket is VND850,000-1.1 million, Nha Trang – Thanh Hoa VND800,000-1 million, Nha Trang – Vinh VND950,000.
Besides, Khanh Hoa Transport Service Company has directed coach stations to cooperate with transportation businesses to provide coach supply for Mien Dong Coach, Ho Chi Minh City. After Tet, more coaches are planned to be put in operation on the routes from Nha Trang City to Ho Chi Minh City, to Da Nang, etc.
Nguyen Van Dan, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Transport, says additional fare is expected to be not exceeding 60%, based on ticket prices claimed and actual demand.
During the peak period before Tet, the 60% additional fare is charged on the route Nha Trang – Ho Chi Minh City from the 15th to 19th day of the last lunar month; 40% from the 20th to 23rd and 60% from the 23rd to 30th day. After Tet, 30% additional fare is charged on the route Nha Trang – Ho Chi Minh City from the 1st to the 3rd day of the new lunar year; and not exceeding 60% from the 4th to the 6th day. The additional fare is not exceeding 30% on the route from Nha Trang to Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, etc; not exceeding 40% on the route from Nha Trang to Can Tho, Soc Trang, Long Hai, Hau Giang and Ca Mau.
Moreover, many measures have been taken by Khanh Hoa Department of Transport to assure road traffic safety and unimpeded flow traffic during the Tet holiday. Khanh Hoa Transport Service Company has assigned coach stations to boost inspection and prevent unsafe coaches from leaving stations and any violations will be strictly fined.
