Many rural roads are concreted.

At present, most of roads in Dien Lac Commune are concrete thanks to the cooperation between the local authority and residents, says Bui Ha Thu Thuy, Chairman of Dien Lac Commune People’s Committee.  Particularly, many residents have donated their land to public works.

Dien An is among the communes that are highly appreciated for rural traffic development. Since 2011, 19 commune roads have been asphalted and concreted at a total length of 5,425m, bringing concrete roads to 75.1%. The commune strives to reach 100% of concrete roads in 2015.

Apart from funding from the state budget, since 2011, many residents in Dien Phu Commune have joined the effort in rural traffic development. They have donated their land and provided financial support worth VND3.6 billion for the rural development program.

Businesses located in the commune have contributed over VND1.7 billion to the upgrading of the rural road network, facilitating rural traffic, especially in rainy seasons.

Reportedly, over the past years, thanks to the credit, basic construction and land use grant funds; capitals of the national target program on new rural construction and mountainous area development program; as well as locals’ contribution, Dien Khanh District has focused on the implementation of new rural construction program.

100% of communes have had asphalted and concrete roads and 95% of inter-commune roads are asphalted and concreted. 10 out of 17 communes have met the traffic criteria according to the national target program on new rural construction.

Phan Van Tung, Head of Dien Khanh District Urban Management Office says, the achievements are thanks to the democratic centralism policy; adequate plans and community supervision to ensure the work quality, speed and efficiency.

Therefore, Dien Khanh District was awarded the excellent emulation flag by the Ministry of Transport for the achievements gained in 2014.
