According to Cao Thanh Hai, Deputy Secretary of Son Trung Commune Party Committee, in a mountainous area like Son Trung Commune, it has been very difficult to mobilize the youth to take part in activities of the Communist Youth Union. However, working as a Communist Youth Union Secretary, Cao Hien has tried to attract many young people in the commune to join the youth union’s activities. He has come to each house to propagandize and mobilize people to engage in youth union’s activities and follow the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh; held numerous cultural and sports activities; formed youth groups to help each other to do business, etc.

Cao Hien has also often mobilized the youth union branches to clean up the environment, take part in preventing forest fires and help people in the locality to develop economy.
“I and my wife are old, so we are not strong enough to do heavy works. I am very happy that Cao Hien and other young people have helped us to care for our tree garden, helping us to have an income,” said Bo Bo Nhanh in Chi Chay Hamlet.
Beside having been enthusiastic in communal works, Cao Hien has still been a good example in learning to improve the professional ability and develop family’s economy. At present, he and his family are focusing on caring fore some trees like pepper, purple sugar-cane and acacia together with raising pigs and oxen. By applying technological advances in production, Hien’s family earns an annual income of nearly VND200 million.
“Following the moral example of Uncle Ho, I have worked hard to enrich my own family. It has also been a practical and effective way to mobilize other youth union members and young people in the locality to escape poverty as well as contribute to develop the homeland,” said Hien.
Reportedly, many young people in Son Trung Commune have come to Hien house to learn experience from his family’s economic model. Hien has always offered helps to people about the capital, breeds, and techniques.
Son Trung Commune now has 118 Communist Youth Union members. Thanks to the effective implementation of economic movement, there are no poor families among youth union members’ families, in which many of them have had high income.
Son Trung Commune Communist Youth Union is one of the leading units in movement activities in Khanh Son District.
