A physical activity playground was constructed at Khanh Hoa-Jeju Primary School, Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District on April 4.

A fifth-grader named Mang Van Cuong says, “We often read books or play hide-and-seek in our playtime. Now it is so delighting to have many new outdoor games. I like zip lines the most and I think other boys do too.”

Other child named Mang Thi Ngoc Anh, a second-grader, adds, “Going to school becomes more interesting when there is a new playground. I like slides very much. I sometimes ask my mother to take me to school early so that I can have more time playing the game.”

“It is of great joy and satisfaction for the pupils and teachers as well to have such creational structures at school,” confirms Principal Vo Thi Thanh Huong.

The amusement construction on an area of more than 150m2 includes 15 physical activity structures such as rope-ladders, mountain-climbing, slides, etc with a capital of over VND80 million funded by the Australian Government Direct Aid Program (DAP).

Le Cong lap, Nha Trang University Youth Union secretary, says in early April, 3 youth constructions were handed over to Vinh Thanh Commune (Nha Trang City) and Diep Son Village (Van Thanh Commune, Van Ninh District) in Khanh Hoa Province; and in Quang Dien Commune (Krong Ana) in Dak Lak Province with a total capital of nearly VND70 million.

The youth projects have been sponsored by the Youth Union Fund, donations and assistance from local individuals and organizations, especially from foreign foundations.

Funded by the “Live & Learn”, the physical activity playground was constructed on April 4. “Thanks to the support from the Foreign Affairs & Cooperation Office, the charity model is expected to be expanded to many other communities, firstly in Ninh Quang Commune, Ninh Hoa Town and Van Luong Commune (Van Ninh District).

If there is sufficient funding, the project will be implemented in all communes and town in Van Ninh District,” says Ho Chi Han, Secretary of the Construction Department of Nha Trang University.

The practical activities of volunteers from Nha Trang University have left good impression on all communities in Khanh Hoa Province. The physical activity playgrounds have contributed to making a difference, helping to bring great pleasure to children in need.
