Phu Dong Park is under construction into a park and an underground restaurant. This is the second project with an underground restaurant after the E-land Four Seasons Restaurant on Nha Trang Beach.

Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has approved a detailed planning of Phu Dong Park at a scale of 1/500. Phu Dong Park project invested by Invest Park Nha Trang Limited Company has a total area of nearly 24,000m2 bordered by the beach to the north and Louisiane Restaurant; by the beach and Ana Mandara Resort to the south; and by Tran Phu Street by the west.
The project has 2 zones. The northern one, over 10,000m2, includes a basement garage, a trade center, public W.C topped with a street-level park. The northern zone, over 13,800m2, includes a wave pool, a stage, an outdoor coffee shop, an underground public coffee shop, a Russian Restaurant and a Southern park.
According to Invest Park Nha Trang, 22,258m2 out of 24,000m2 is for a park, a swimming pool and a walking lane; and 1,736m2 for service. The underground structure has a total of 12,494m2, including 8,808m2 for the northern zone and 3.686m2 for the southern one.
The project land use planning specifies a northern basement, 3.6m deep; the southern basement topped with the Russian Restaurant, its auxiliary service zone; an outdoor stage and its auxiliary performance zone. The Russian Restaurant has a height limit of 7.5m; and the outdoor stage and its auxiliary zone at a height limit of 16.7m.
According to Le Van De, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Construction, frequent inspection has been carried out over the construction work of Phu Dong Park. The most recent inspection visit was made in April 2015.
According to leaders of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, coastal projects in general and Phu Dong Park in particular aim to diversify attractions of amusement and entertainment as well as promote beautiful public park space in Nha Trang City.
Development planning should not be made at all costs. It is essential to consider what needs to be exploited or kept for tourism, emphasized Le Thanh Quang, Central Party Committee Member, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council in a meeting on March 6 with tourism businesses in Khanh Hoa.
