72-year-old Cao Le Dan is among respectful patriarchs in Ta Gu Village, Son Hiep Commune, Khanh Son District, Khanh Hoa Province. He is highly appreciated for great contribution to the community.

In spite of old age, Cao Le Dan, has actively joined in social work. He is presently the Secretary of Ta Gu Village Communist Party Cell and working as a family conciliator.
Cao Le Dan says, “The life used be hard. Now everything has much improved in terms of access to electricity supply, education and medical service. Therefore, I usually encourage local residents to make good advantage of favorable conditions to keep a peaceful community and build comfortable and happy family life.”
One of his notable work highly appreciated by the local authority is the mobilization for contribution to housing fund for the needy. 7 houses worth VND100-130 million have been constructed for the needy.
Cao Duon, a resident in Ta Gu Village, says, “Thanks to the village patriarch Cao Le Dan’s help, my family has a sound house to live in and thus lead a stabled life. We will try to work harder to improve our living standard as well as help others in need.”
In spite of social work, Cao Le Dan has advised younger generations to study and work diligently to contribute the society. He has also directed other families to develop household business. Cao Le Dan has nearly 10 buffaloes, oxen, over 4 poles of purple sugarcane, nearly 3 poles of rice, 5 poles of corn, etc with a total annual income of some VND150 million.
Cao Le Dan is one of the four outstanding reputable patriarchs in Son Hiep Commune. He epitomizes the responsible man with great effort in study and work, contributing greatly to the local socioeconomic development, says Bo Bo Thi Yen, Secretary of Son Hiep Party Community Committee.
