Themed “40 years of the Great Spring Victory”, the 17th Khanh Hoa Traditional Camp Festival is a chance for young people to review the national historical significance for independence.

Held on April 22-25, the event drew the participation of 20 youth unions at district, town, their subsidiaries, colleges and universities in Cam Ranh City.

The festival was impressive with camp gates in various shapes, including a ship crossing huge waves heading offshore (Van Ninh camp gate), featuring the youth’s determination to struggle for success; a tank reminding of Dien Bien victory (Dien Khanh), Raglai people’s long house (Khanh Son), etc. Besides, other gates highlighted the theme of national sovereignty over Spratly and Paracel Islands.

With the theme about the Spring victory 1975, the camp festival aimed to raise awareness of young people’s roles and the Party’s leadership in the struggle for the national reunification.

Tran Thi Hong Tuyen from the Youth Union of Khanh Hoa Provincial agencies says, “This is the first time I have joined the traditional camp festival. All the activities are about the national revolutionary history, helping young people like me to understand more about our ancestors’ devotion to the country. This is such a meaningful activity.”

The festival inspired the youth to learn more about the country’s history and thus make them feel proud of the Spring Victory 1975.

In a speech on the opening night, Nguyen Tan Tuan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Head of the national assembly delegation of Khanh Hoa Province highly appreciated the contribution of those who had sacrificed themselves for the national independence and expressed his hope that younger generations would continue promoting the traditional value

Secretary Vo Hoan Hai say, “The festival is an opportunity for young people to meet and strengthen solidarity. Many meaningful activities in the festival help us to learn more about the strength of solidarity and thus become more aware of the roles of youth unions.”

On this occasion, Khanh Hoa Youth Union inaugurated the youth construction “Lighting up rural roads” in Hoa Diem Village, Cam Thinh Dong Commune, Cam Ranh City.

In addition, a festival  themed “The youth take action for Spratly Islands” was held with the participation of over 40 young people. Many activities included musical performance, volleyball friendship matches with officials and soldiers of the Naval Zone 4 Headquarter, etc. Besides, a  panel was installed at the Brigade 146, Naval Zone 4 to propagandize sea and island sovereignty.
