Launched in March 2015, the writing competition "If I were Chairman of provincial People's Committee" has chosen excellent writings for the final round.

The competition is designed to create a playground for young people to contribute their ideas and solutions to provincial leaders for the local socio-economic construction and development; give young people a chance to put their knowledge and understanding into practice in order to promote their creativity, responsibilities and roles in provincial socio-economic contribution and development.

The competition has received 10,346 entries from young people in Khanh Hoa Province. Most entries are from Van Ninh District Division of Education & Training, Nha Trang City Young Union, Cam Ranh Youth Union and Ly Tu Trong High School. Most finalists are from the Communist Youth Union of Khanh Hoa Provincial agencies.

Much suggestion has been given on initiatives and solutions to current issues related to job creation for the youth, traffic safety, environmental preservation, economic development strategies, etc. Many writings have included sufficient data and illustrations, showing much time and effort spent together with wide knowledge, according to Vo Hoan Hai, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Communist Youth Union.

After the first and second rounds, 6 writings were chosen to advance to the final which is expected to take place this May. In the final round, the candidates will be required to persuade the jury about the feasibility of their ideas and then answer questions raised by the examiners.

Prizes will be awarded to finalists with the most practical and persuasive initiatives and solutions which then will be chosen by Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee for consideration for local socio-economic development.
