Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company (KHPC) in association with Nha Trang City Division of Education & Training held a contest “Students with knowledge about electricity saving” on May 16.

3 teams were from 3 junior high schools namely Au Co, Vo Van Ky and Tran Hung Dao. Participants had to show their knowledge about electricity saving in order to raise awareness of electricity saving. The contest had greeting, quick response, multiple-choice and presentation rounds.
In the greeting round, students from Au Co Junior High School acted a play delivering the message “electricity saving contributes greatly to the construction and protection of the country.”
They explained that electricity is needed for all human activities. Electricity is not self-produced. Electricity is produced by hydroelectric and thermo-electric plants. Therefore, everybody should be aware of saving electricity by turning off their lights when not in use.
The team from Vo van Ky School expressed knowledge about electricity saving through the legend about the God of the Mountain and the God of the Water. They showed their good knowledge about electricity saving as well as sent their wish that power suppliers should try to find ways to cut electricity cost to benefit customers.
In the quick response and multiple-choke round, students had a chance to get economical use of electricity and useful information about household appliances.
According to leaders of KHPC, since 2015, the company has directed its subsidiaries to implement an energy saving scheme to assure stable power supply for the local socio-economic development.
Nguyen Kim Hoang, KHPC Vice- Director hopes electricity saving behaviors will be publicized and students themselves will save electricity at home and school. Each student will be a propagandist for energy saving in his family and community.
“We try to prevent power shortage this year and joint effort of all customers are needed for safe and economical power use. Education and propaganda obviously play an important role in raising awareness of energy saving,” he says.
