On May 16, Ursula Nguyen, Chairwoman of Medical Aid for Vietnam received the German Order of Merit from German Consul General in Vietnam Steu on behalf of the President of German Federal Republic. Present at the ceremony held at Khanh Hoa General Hospital was Dao Cong Thien, Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Health and Khanh Hoa People’s Committee granted certificates of merit to Ursula Nguyen.

Ursula Nguyen, 66 years old, was born in Germany. Her husband is PhD Nguyen The Phiet born in Khanh Hoa. Over the past 30 years, Ursula Nguyen has sought donations of medical equipment to hospitals in Vietnam. Thousands of ultrasound scanners, breathing machines, etc worth hundreds of billion Vietnam dongs have been donated.

Besides, she has brought many Vietnamese physicians to attend courses in Germany and other European countries; and invited German medical experts to Vietnam for technical transfer.

The German Consul General expressed his appreciation for her devotion to charity and confirmed that her work contributed to strengthening the German-Vietnamese friendly relationship.

Earlier, Ursula Nguyen had been awarded Medals of Friendship twice by Vietnamese Government.
