Over the past years, education and training in Dien Khanh District has much improved with satisfactory achievements.

Several schools in Dien Khanh have received much investment in infrastructures and teaching instruments .

Hoa Phuong Nursery School (Dien Khanh) is among 5 national standard nursery schools Khanh Hoa Province with much investment in infrastructures.

Principal Huynh Thi Quynh Hoa says, thanks to the state budget and tuition worth over VND1 billion, the school has cemented a playground, bought new desks, chairs, kitchen items, computers, laptops,  the Internet and wifi devices, etc.

Besides, thanks to nearly VND400 million from public participation funding, the school has built a fairy garden, a physical development zone, a science house; installed 3 water heaters, bought 17 televisions and many learning aids.

The school child care and education quality has much improved with good opportunities for children to get access to information technology.

In addition, the district has also focused on education infrastructure investment with many national standard schools namely Dien An Nursery School, Dien Tho Nursery School, Thi Tran 1 Primary School, Dien Dien Primary School, Phan Chu Trinh Junior High School, Tran Nhan Tong Junior High School, etc. 62 of school in Dien Khanh have met the national standards so far, says Dinh Gia Bao, Head of the Dien Khanh Division of Education & Training.

In the time to come, the district plans to expand the school sizes  to meet increasing demand and boost public participation in school infrastructure investment with the target that 80% of schools in Dien Khanh will meet national standard by 2020.

Over the past 5 years, Dien Khanh District has gained achievements in education internalization and illiteracy eradication.  Specifically, Dien Khanh was commended by the Ministry of Education & Training for the education internalization for 5-year olds. By the end 2014, 12/19 communes and town were recognized to meet high school education unversalization criteria with the junior high school graduation rate reaching 86.8% on average for 15- to 18-year olds. The figure in the communes of Dien Toan, Dien An and Dien Dien was even higher, over 90%.

The provincial-level excellent students increased from 56 in the school year 2010-2011 to 59 in the 2013-2014. Dien Khanh ranked third, just after Nha Trang City and Ninh Hoa Town in terms of provincial-level excellent students.

According to Dinh Gia Bao, the achievements have resulted from the concern and support from the district; and great effort of management staff and teachers. In addition, public participation and study encouragement models have developed and proved their effectiveness.

From now to 2020, Dien Khanh strives to continue its improvement in education and training, boosting the application of information technology in teaching; school expansion to assure schooling for all 5-year-old kids and so on.
