World Blood Donor Day celebration to take place June 12

The Blood Donor Day celebration is scheduled to take place at Khanh Hoa Conference Center at 46 Tran Phu, Nha Trang on June 12. The event aimed to honor blood donors for their voluntary, life-saving gifts in 2015.

This year’s event is expected to draw the participation of 500 people, donating some 300 units of blood. From now to the blood donor day, the steering board has enhanced blood donation propaganda to motivate regular blood donors; organize voluntary blood donation drives, etc, says Tran Nguyen Luong, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Red Cross, Deputy Chief of Khanh Hoa Blood Donation Steering Board.

In addition, the steering board has directed districts and towns to celebrate the Blood Donor Day to honor outstanding blood donors.

Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee will grant certificates of merit to individuals who have donated their blood twenty times or more and motivated more than 100 people/ year to join blood donation; families donating blood twenty times or more; and organizations with excellent achievements in blood donation propaganda, fulfilling 150% of the annual targets set for blood donors, etc.

Besides, Khanh Hoa steering board of blood donation will grant certificates of merit to individuals who have donated their blood from ten to nineteen times; families donating blood from ten to nineteen times; and organizations with excellent achievements in the blood donation campaigns, fulfilling 150% of the annual targets set for blood donors, etc.

12 families, 32 organizations and 48 individuals are expected to receive certificates of merit by Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee. 20 families, 99 organizations and 184 individuals are expected to be granted certificates of merit by Khanh Hoa Blood Donation Steering Board. Besides, Khanh Hoa Blood Donation Steering Board has nominated 6 outstanding individuals for certificates of merit by the Prime Minister.
