The 2015 Vietnamese Family Day themed “Family Meal with Love and Compassion” is aimed to raise public awareness of the value of families and moments family members enjoying meals together at home. The day features the love, respect, understanding and care among grandparents, parents, couples and children.
The event honors Vietnamese families’ humanitarian values, helping tighten family bonds. Beyond health and nutrition, family meals provide a valuable opportunity for all people to get closer. The family fabric is woven by shared experiences and time spent together.
Family meals are also a representation of the cultural and heritage of the family. Eating together builds closer relationships within the family.
The theme “Family Meal with Love and Compassion” is accompanied with the propaganda themed “The formation of Vietnamese characters begins with character education at home”.
Many activities will be held in response to Vietnamese Family Day. Much propaganda and education will be boosted with posters, banners, parades and other means of communications to raise public awareness of the importance of family values in social life in general and the meaning of the Vietnamese Family Day in particular.
Other events will be organized such as meetings; musical and cultural exchange programs; sporting, leisure and tourism activities. Outstanding families will also be honored on this occasion.
Especially, "We will boost propaganda on the preparation for family meals on Sunday June 28, 2015 from 5pm to 7pm. These are practical activities in an effort to appreciate traditional values of Vietnamese families," says Ngo Huong, Chief of the Family & Cultural Life Bureau, Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sport & Tourism.
