Nha Trang City has seen much improvement in urban infrastructures under Khanh Hoa urban development program and Nha Trang City urban development plan, period 2011-2015, according to Nguyen Van Danh, Chairman of Nha Trang City People’s Committee.

Based on the comprehensive planning, Nha Trang City has been covered by 96% with the zoning planning (scale 1/2,000), meeting the urban development investment and management requirement. The detailed scale 1/500 planning of some inner urban areas has been made to create a legal basis for urban construction, investment and growth according to the development strategy of the city.
Most of the construction planning plans have been implemented in accordance with the comprehensive planning. The city has had regulations on construction management under Nha Trang City comprehensive planning adjustment plan till 2025 and vision beyond 2025; promulgated regulations on the city overall architecture planning management to concretize the regulations on planning, architecture and construction in accordance with local circumstances. In addition, the planning review, evaluation and modification have been made to adapt to the reality and common development trend and create favorable conditions for management planning.
In recent years, urban infrastructures have improved significantly with many new residential urban zones completed and under construction. Many streets have been upgraded.
The improvement in technical, social infrastructures and utilities have been assured, contributing to formulating infrastructure policies and integrated urban development plans to create a new image of Nha Trang City. The implementation of Resolution 17 on donation of land use right has helped reducing financial burden on the State budget.
Nha Trang City has seen much improvement in urban technical infrastructures, especially in the west of Le Hong Phong Street where many big projects have been under development such as the streets namely Phong Chau, Cao Ba Quat, Cau Lung, Street No.1, Street No. 4, etc. Many other streets have been constructed and widened.
Traffic infrastructure investment in urban and rural areas has been focused. 11/13 technical infrastructure projects have been completed. In the period 2011-2015, Nha Trang has had 1,099 roads, including 394 urban streets, 115km in length in total; 12 inter-commune roads, 93 roads managed by commune authorities and 600 lanes.
In the time to come, Nha Trang City plans to focus investment on infrastructures development, mainly in the west and south-west with new multi-functional urban residential zones to meet the sustainable development of the city in the future.
