Investment in science, technology and innovation is essential for economic development and social progress.

According to a report by Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, the total scientific and technological development expenditure in Khanh Hoa has reached VND152.7 billion in the period 2011-2015.

The provincial funding allocated for scientific and technological development has increased year by year. Besides, the province has made good advantage of financial support from the country and foreign organizations to implement some scientific and technological projects for local socioeconomic growth, especially those on the application and transfer of scientific and technological advances to serve rural and mountainous socio-economic development strategies.

The total scientific and technological development expenditure in Khanh Hoa has reached VND15.7 billion, mainly used by projects on boosting measurement and verification resources; infrastructure improvement at non-business agencies, centers for environmental information, monitoring, etc.

In the period 2011-2015, scientific and technological tasks funded by the State budget has well served the socioeconomic and  scientific and technological development planning till 2020 and the vision till 2030 and other economic programs, focusing on urgent issues related to scientific and technological development, meeting modernization and industrialization targets in the international economic integration and socialist oriented market economy.

According to leaders of Khanh Hoa Department of Science & Technology, Khanh Hoa has approved 93 subjects and projects since 2011. All of the subjects and projects have been implemented, meeting the requirement for scientific and technological tasks.

All effort has been made to ensure that scientific and technological progress is nurtured and taken into account for socioeconomic growth.
