The 4 young cyclists are Nguyen Thi Nguyet, Nguyen Van Sang, Hoang Tung and Nguyen Thuy Giang. Nguyen Van Sang, the oldest member, has got a job and others are students aged between 18 and 20 in Hai Phong.

After 23 days through scorching sunlight on winding and challenging mountain roads in the central region, the volunteers have visited many charity houses for disabled and disadvantaged children on their way. The group has just traveled to Nha Trang City with the hope to conquer Mui Doi- Hon Dau.

The cyclists made a plan of the trip 1 year ago. Their luggage includes necessary things with diaries and many books to be offered to orphans.

They have just traveled over 1,000km on their bikes. Thuy Giang says, “23 days on our bikes across the country has given us great rewards which outweigh our effort. We have had a chance to witness the fortitude and affection of  a poor family with 5 siblings in Binh Dinh. Their parents died young leaving 5 children, 3 of whom are disabled. The youngest, presently a twelfth-grader, becomes the only earning member of the family."

The group has offered VND500,000 to the 5 siblings. On her facebook page, Thuy Giang wrote, “Our trip brings valuable experience and helps us to discover life values. Each lesson I learn from the places I have passed by helps me to be more mature. Everyone needs mutual help and sharing in life. I love the feeling of helping the unfortunate. After 3 days calling at Nha Trang for sightseeing, the group has continued their journey to Lam Dong Province to visit Mai Son Orphanage and then to Ho Chi Minh City to join a charity program to offer 130 portions to children at an orphanage.

The destination will be Ca Mau known as the southernmost point of Vietnam. Reportedly, the funding for over 30 charity visits and gifts for needy, disabled, orphan children and disadvantaged families is over VND30 million.

What they have experienced from the charity trip is valuable. “We, completely strangers, with the same passion for charity work and great desire to conquer ourselves, have become close to each other like in a family. We can share all joy and difficulties in life. This are valuable living experiences for us on the path ahead,” Hoang Tung says.
