The fishing boat BD 97157TS captained by Nguyen Chi Do (Hai Nhon, Binh Dinh) has run aground when fishing at Jackson Atoll, 73 sea miles from Son Ca Island of the Spratly Island.
Receiving the mayday, the KN 833 Ship on duty on Da Thi Island was sent to the scene and successfully saved the boat with 12 crew on board. They were then brought to Son Ca Island safety and were provided medical care and food.
