On August 7, Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training held a workshop on sea and island sovereignty education at school for the academic year 2015-2016 for nearly 400 teaching staff and officials in Khanh Hoa Province.
At the workshop, Lieutenant-General Nguyen Thanh Tuan, former Director of the Department of Popularization & Training under the General Department of Politics propagandized some information related to the East Sea in the strategies of some powerful countries in the region and worldwide; policies of some coastal countries; the East Sea and socio-economic development; national defense and security boost; some methods to enhance the management and protection of the sea and island, etc.
Reportedly, in recent years, many schools in Khanh Hoa Province have boosted sea and island sovereignty education through such curricular subjects as history, geography, civic education and many extracurricular activities.
