Khanh Hoa Customs Department has just held a training course for local firms on customs procedures to import and export products; tax- refund and exemption, etc. Nguyen Thi Hang Mo, an import-export specialist of Nha Trang Sun Company branch, Suoi Dau Industrial Zone says, “The customs formalities now become simpler and take less time.”

Import and export firms have been timely informed of new regulations on customs procedures, management, tax policies, etc. According to Phan Thanh Son, Chief of the professional Office of Khanh Hoa Customs Department, Khanh Hoa Customs Department has made great achievements in administrative reform.

Remarkably, the one-door customs mechanism, which updates and unites the current cargo, port and customs information systems, has has been implemented, enabling faster and more efficient customs clearance and movement of freight.

The electronic customs procedure V4 was implemented from January to June 2013. Since May 2014, the Vietnam Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System and the Vietnam Customs Information System (VNACCS/VCIS) has completely replaced the customs system V4 and other traditional procedures.

Up till now, the customs system has operated smoothly, cutting costs, saving time and thus facilitating commercial activities. E-manifest system has been applied with 98% of vessel arrivals through customs clearance.

Simultaneously, Khanh Hoa Department of Customs has developed information technology application programs, meeting the current requirement for data declaration, management and transmission. The streamlined customs procedures implemented on the VNACCS/VCIS and the national one-door policy have proven efficiency and effectiveness at a fast data processing speed.

At present, Khanh Hoa Department of Customs has 146 officials and contractual employees. Over the past years, the department has focused on professional training, gradually meeting the requirement for customs reform and modernization.

Furthermore, customs infrastructures have been upgraded for better customer service. Clients have also benefited from a wide range of  customs clearance support and counseling services.

4 groups and 6 individuals of Khanh Hoa Department of Customs have been awarded by Khanh Hoa People’s Committee for their contribution to administrative reform. In 2014, 1 group and 13 individuals were awarded in the emulation drive for successful implementation of VNACCS/VCIS system by General Department of Customs.
