Over the past 5 years, the health care and education system in Khanh Vinh has much improved thanks to considerable investment in infrastructures and human resources.

According to leaders of Khanh Vinh District, the local school and class sizes have expanded significantly and teaching infrastructures have much improved.
There are 37 schools with 374 rooms in the 2014- school year, up 37 schools and 69 rooms compared with the 2010-2011 academic year. 3 national standard schools include Song Cau Primary School, Khanh Dong Primary School and 2-8 Nursery School. Since 2011, the total investment in the construction and repair of schools has reached over VND101 billion. Many methods have been taken to assure the teaching and learning quality.
According to Bui Huu Ha, Chief of Khanh Vinh District Division of Education & Training, in recent years, Khanh Vinh has seen comprehensive development in education in terms of infrastructures and labor forces. At present, most of local communes have nursery and primary schools. Standard teachers account for 65%. The annual primary school graduation rate is over 95%.
The school drop-out rate is down to under 2%. In the time to come, the district will continue enhancing the application of advanced information technology in education; vocational training and regular professional development; investment in infrastructures with public participation boost.
Since 2011, 16 doctors, 8 nurses and 4 dental physicians have been sent to attend professional development courses. Now, there are 285 medical staff, including 8 postgraduates and 33 graduates. The medical staff have met the requirement for preventive health care and community health care at all levels.
Besides, medical infrastructures have been much improved with an in-built oxygen system, fetal monitors, anesthesia machines, 4D color ultrasound scanners, etc. General clinics and medical stations have been re-constructed, helping strengthen the delivery of health services. At present, there are 3 medical stations. Statistics show that 6.3 doctors and 0.27 nurses serve 10,000 residents on average.
Diep Bao Loc, Vice-Director of Khanh Vinh Medical Station says, over the past 5 years, the station has assured its technical implementation required for a 3-grade hospital, fulfilling community health care and epidemic control tasks.
