On September 22, Yasaka-Saigon-Nhatrang Hotel and the Association of Yersin Admirers jointly organized a ceremony to celebrate the 152nd birthday of Dr. Alexandre Yersin (September 22, 1863–2015), a Vietnamese Honorary Citizen.

The Yersin Awards are given to representatives of excellent students.

Dr. Yersin was born in Switzerland in 1863. He studied in France and then moved to Vietnam and spent his rest life there. He is well remembered as the co-discoverer of the bacillus responsible for the bubonic plague and the founder of Nha Trang Pasteur Institute, Hanoi Medical University; the discoverer of Lang Biang Highland (Lam Dong Province) and Hon Ba Ecological Site (Khanh Hoa). At present, Khanh Hoa remains many relics related to Alexandre Yersin.

 
Reportedly, Yasaka-Saigon-Nhatrang Hotel has an honor to be assigned by Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee to preserve the Alexandre Yersin’s grave and working place on Hon Ba Peak.
 
On this occasion, the Association of Yersin Admirers announced the Yersin Awards which were then given for the first time to 4 top grade achievers in the National High School Examination. The awards were worth VND25 million in total. 
 
On the same day, Yasaka-Saigon-Nhatrang Hotel opened Yersin Nha Trang Post Office agent at 1 Yersin, Nha Trang City.
