Van Ninh District Study Encouragement Association has provided great material and mental support for hundreds of disadvantaged students, helping them to overcome adversities and study well.

Tran Bich Hoa, a good pupil of Van Luong 2 Primary School, is from a poor family living in a small house in Quang Phuoc Village, Van Hung Luong Commune.
“My child’s school expense is also our financial burden because of our low and unstable income. Luckily, she is very diligent and graded “good student’ for successive 3 years,” her mother named Mac Thi Thu Van proudly says.
This new school year, Hoa is awarded a scholarship worth VND500,000. “The support is of great spiritual value, giving us more motivation to continue effort for a better future , " Mac Thi Thu Van adds.
Similarly, another pitiful case is Huynh Quoc Dat, a seventh grader at Nguyen Binh Khiem Junior High School, Van Thang Commune. His house is 7km from the school but he did not have a bike. He had to get up early every day to call at his friend’s house to be given a ride. He has just been donated a bike. “I’m so delighted. I will try more to get better study results to please my parents and teachers,” he promises.
Huynh Van Hoa, Deputy Chairman of Van Thang Commune People’s Committee says, “We seeks for donations to the support fund every year from families and companies in order to help children in need to continue their education, thus reducing school drop-outs. Besides, the local authority has also paid concern over building studious families and learning communities.”
Luong Thi Hai, Deputy Chairwoman of Van Ninh District Study Encouragement Association says, “Nearly VND530 million has been raised since 2010. 262 scholarships worth over VND375 million have been offered. In the 2015-2016 school year, 80 scholarships and 14 bikes have been awarded. Besides, the association in cooperation with Tuoi Tre Newspaper and Prudential Insurance Company has donated 320 school bags to needy students.
Van Ninh District Study Encouragement Association has played an important role in providing material and spiritual support for disadvantaged students as well as maintaining the link between the society and people. Such charity activities have facilitated children’s access to education, helping them to achieve their future dreams and goals.
