Over the past years, Nha Trang City Women’s Union has effectively implemented the scheme 704 namely “Educating 5 million mothers on good parenting”.

According to Ngo Thi Nga, Deputy Chairperson of Phuong Son Ward Women’s Association, Good family relationships are the foundation for a happy family. Many parents have been advised to keep open communication with their children to understand them more.
Phan Thi To Oanh, Head of Phu Vinh 2 Village Women’s Association, Vinh Thanh Commune, says through meetings and activities, child education and care skills, and psychosocial development knowledge have been provided for local members. Besides, members have been mobilized to contribute to a mutual support fund to help families in financial hardship and share experience in keeping family happiness.
Reportedly, at present, Nha Trang City Women’s Union has 29 affiliations with 374 association branches and nearly 59,000 members. Under the scheme 704, many practical activities, emulation campaigns and contests have been held on adolescent physiological and psychological development and life skills with the attendance of 2,9582 women.
In addition, there are 28 clubs “Five Nos, Three Cleans” with 1,642 members; 8 “Happy family” clubs, 12 "Green garden and clean walkway" groups, 5 Anti-AIDS clubs together with 98 “trusted community support” addresses.
Moreover, 12,390 women, accounting for 83%, with children under the age of 16 have been provided knowledge about child rights and child care. 2,286 fathers (over 76 %) with children under 16 have had access to knowledge about parenting, information about gender equality, domestic violence prevention, etc. Nearly 2,500 adolescents (75%) have had access to knowledge about reproductive health care and skills to cope with difficulties in life and so on.
Nguyen Thi Khanh Hoa, Chairman of Nha Trang City Women’s Union says the scheme 704 has contributed changes in the way of thinking of several families. In the time to come, effective models are expected to be expanded with more practical activities for women.
