Over the past years, the “Skilled and creative labor” campaign has proved its effectiveness in inspiring laborers’ creativity in various industries.

The campaign has attracted the participation of all staff of Khanh Viet Corporation. Laborers’ creativeness in production has been highly appreciated and awarded. Ho Thuong Hai, Khatoco Trade Union Chairman says some 100 initiatives in production are submitted annually. 68 initiatives were approved and applied in production, saving over VND1.8 billion from January to September 2015.
Every year, Khanh Hoa General Hospital receives hundreds of innovative ideas, contributing to health care improvement and cost reduction. Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai, Deputy Chairperson of Khanh Hoa General Hospital Trade Union says, “Since 2008, 43 provincial-level initiatives have been approved and applied. 7 initiatives have been certified as creative labor. Many individuals have been honored for their creativeness, contributing to medical treatment improvement.
The campaign has been widely implemented and linked with professional accomplishment namely “Good learning and teaching”, “Every teacher is a good example for self-learning and creativeness” by the Education Trade Union; “Emulation for the cause of agricultural modernization and rural development by the Agriculture Trade Union; “Quality, progress, economy, safety and effectiveness”, “Safe driving, high quality buses and elegant passenger service” by the Traffic Trade Union, etc. The activities have raised laborers’ awareness of responsibilities, enthusiasm and creativeness.
Over the past 5 years from 2011 to 2015, the campaign has received and approved more than 2,000 initiatives in production and engineering, saving hundreds of billions of dongs. 51 workers have been awarded certificates of merit and medals for creative labor by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
According to Bui Dang Thanh, Head of the Legal Policy Committee of Khanh Hoa Confederation of Labor, the campaign has helped improve working environments. Sufficient laborer safety clothing has been provided and employees’ health care has been improved.
Nguyen Hoa, Chairman of the Labor Confederation says the campaign is expected to be expanded to every trade union affiliation. More propaganda is required to raise workers’ awareness of the campaign and more cooperation between trade unions and employers is needed to create favorable working conditions to keep employees’ creativity flowing and promote productivity.
