At present, most of the roads in Cam Tan Commune have been installed with lights. Nguyen Kien, Chairman of the commune Farmers’ Association says, in 2013, thanks to the provincial Youth’s Fund, a lighting system was installed covering 800m from the National Road 1A to Hoa Tan Railway Station, Phu Binh 2 Village. Many other communities were mobilized to donate VND250,000 million to the lighting system installment on many other roads.
6 roads, over 4,500m in length, have been equipped with lights so far due to public participation. Especially, 2 roads, one from the National Road 1A to the ethnic minority community and the other from the national road 1A to the overflowing bank of Go River, Vinh Binh Village were completely financed (VND38 million) by Hoang Hai Company. Over 230 families voluntarily contributed VND15,000 each to keep road lights on all night. Ho Duc Hong, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the commune People’s Committee Council says the “lighting up rural roads” projects model has brought great benefits, helping to improve safety and thus facilitate travel at night.
Besides the “lighting up rural roads”, many other models have proved to be successful thanks to effective mass mobilization. Le Ho Kiem, the commune Standing Committee Vice- Secretary, Head of the commune Mass Mobilization says to assure the progress of the project on upgrading and widening the national road 1A, the commune People’s Committee has founded groups of officials in charge of propagandizing the State policies and law to every family affected by the site clearance for the project. All inquires have been reported to the Center for Land Fund Development for timely replied and resolved.
Many training classes on large scale and small scale industry, and rural sectors have been opened to promote locals’ creativity and engineering application into agricultural practice. At present, Gia Long Tractor Group founded by the local Farmers’ Association has proved effectiveness.
Over the past 5 years, there have been many practical models namely Anti-violence Patrol Group by local police, “drops of life” by the Red Cross, “gratitude” program by the Youth Union, “Women’s saving” by the Women’s Union, etc. Le Pham Thuy Ngan, Head of Cam Lam District Commission for Mass Mobilization says the mass mobilization tasks have been successfully done. Cam Tan Commune Mass Mobilization bloc together with the “lighting up rural roads” model has just been awarded by the District Party Committee for the achievements in the “Good mass mobilization” emulation campaign.
