Besides doing business, the Southern Central Sabeco Trade Joint Stock Company has focused on social work. Nguyen Van Thinh, Director of the Southern Central Sabeco Trade Joint Stock Company says, “I used to experience hardship when I was a student. Therefore, I hope our help will inspire those in need to greater effort in learning.”
That is the reason why Southern Central Sabeco Trade Joint Stock Company in partnership with Khanh Hoa Newspaper has founded the scholarship fund. “Students start with nothing at the beginning and thus we want them to try their best to work."
A long-term plan for the scholarship fund has been made. Southern Central Sabeco Trade Joint Stock Company has deposited its initial VND400 million capital and the annual interest has added to the scholarship fund. Over the past 4 years, thanks to the scholarship fund and staff’s donation, 100 students have been awarded scholarships worth VND170 million.
Ta Quang Tich, Chief of the Administrative Office of Southern Central Sabeco Trade Joint Stock Company says, "The scholarship fund is our priority to assure its long-term assistance for poor students." Reportedly, apart from the scholarship fund in Khanh Hoa, annually, Sabeco Southern Central Joint Stock Company has endowed struggling students in the three provinces of Phu Yen, Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan.
VND2 million is not much but a valuable spiritual support for the needy. “I received the scholarship in the 2013 – 2014 school year. It was a material and spiritual support,” says Le Nguyen Nhat Van, one of the recipients in Ninh Hoa Town. His father died young and his mother is very old. His financial difficulties seemed to be insurmountable. However, he was the top student with the average grade of over 9.0. He has just graduated from Khanh Hoa Medical College and become a physician at Ninh Diem General Hospital.
Hoang Trong Pho, Chief of Politics Affairs of Nha Trang Vocational College, says many students are from disadvantaged families. Concern and support from individuals, organizations and companies are highly appreciated. This is the 2nd time Sabeco scholarships have been awarded to college and university students. The scholarships are considered as a financial aid which motivates students to make more effort in learning.
