Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has just held the second contest on administrative reform initiatives and models for young public sector staff. The event drew the participation of several local agencies and communities bringing numerous practical initiatives and models.
 

 

“The contest is designed to promote administrative reform research and application in reality; thus contributing to the administrative reform effort and raising public sector staff’s awareness of administrative reform and management,” says Ngo Truyen, Director of Khanh Hoa Home Affairs.
 

31 initiatives and models by 19 agencies and communities focused on such themes as administrative reform, administrative procedure simplification, implementation of the national one-door mechanism; online applications; information technological application in management and administration. According to organizers, most of initiatives and models were  innovative and practical. Some showed public servants’ humanism, ethics and spirit of serving the people.

9 excellent initiatives and models chosen to advance to the final round included file processing result automatically announced via SMS sent directly to customers by Office of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee; reform on documentation management of policy benefactories in Khanh Hoa by Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs;  e- file circulation on the electronic one-door software in resolving administrative procedures under the one –door mechanism by Khanh Hoa Information & Communications; raising ethnic minority people’s awareness of birth registration and medical card issuance for children under 6 in an administrative resolution procedure at Khanh Dong Commune People’s Committee by Khanh Vinh District People’s Committee, etc.


The final included multiple choice, quick response; initiative and model presentation; and skill performance. The first prize went to Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs, the second to Department of Home Affairs and the third to Department of Information & Communications.


Besides, 6 consolidation prizes were awarded. Nguyen Trong Thai,  Vice-Director of Khanh Hoa Home Affairs, Head of the Jury says, “All the contestants have shown their good knowledge of administrative reform, information technology application, presentation and problem solving skills. Many initiatives are really feasible.”
 

Reportedly, all the initiates and models will be reported to Khanh Hoa People’s Committee for consideration.  Speaking at the final round of the competition, Nguyen Duy Bac, Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee directed local departments and agencies to put the initiatives into consideration for application in reality and continue to create  favorable environments for motivating public servants’ creativity, contributing to the administrative reform.
