In recent years, Ninh Hiep Ward has taken the lead in the voluntary blood donation campaign in Ninh Hoa Town.
Ninh Hiep Ward Red Cross has focused on boosting volunteers for blood donation and urgent blood donation at 25 affiliations, including 18 communities and 7 schools. 181 volunteers include 1 person with 46 blood donations, 4 others with 30 donations, 22 with 20-25 donations and 17 outstanding blood donors’ families.
In order to expand the voluntary blood donation network, the ward Steering Board of Voluntary Blood Donation has signed many blood donation mobilization agreements with such agencies as Ninh Hoa Town Confederation of Labor, Ninh Hoa 5 Open Universality, Ninh Hoa Vocational School, Nguyen Trai High School, Tran Cao Van High School and Ninh Hoa Regular Education Center. Hundreds of blood units have been donated over the past 5 years.
25 Red Cross affiliations of residential communities, schools and agencies have been assigned to fulfill blood donation criteria. 3,000 people have been mobilized to join blood donation and 2,073 units of blood have been collected.
Every year, Ninh Hoa Red Cross organizations hold ceremonies to mark the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day (April 7) and the World Blood Donor Day (June 14); and open 5 training courses on the blood donation task for volunteers and heads of Red Cross affiliations.
In addition, propaganda in various forms has been boosted with 151 articles broadcasted on the local Radio Station together with leaflets and posters so far, contributing to raising public awareness of blood donation.
Ninh Hoa Town Red Cross has been awarded 2 certificates of merit by Vietnam Red Cross for achievements in blood donation mobilization. Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has granted certificates of merit to 8 groups, 6 individuals and 4 families.
Khanh Hoa Steering Board of Blood Donation has awarded certificates of merit to 44 groups, 54 individuals and 25 families for their achievements in blood donation tasks. Ninh Hoa Red Cross has received flags of emulation by the provincial Red Cross for 5 successive years and certificates of merit by the National Red Cross for 8 successive years for excellence in the Red Cross tasks.
