According to Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs, at present, more than 17,800 senior citizens are benefiting from monthly allowances of VND270,000 each. The beneficiaries include nearly 500 old and lonely people and 17,300 others aged 80 and above without pensions.
All the seniors are granted medical insurance cards and funeral grants worth over VND3 million each. Besides, 185 old, disabled and mentally ill people are in the care of social service institutions.
