Khanh Hoa Public Security’s Immigration Department (PA72) has created a breakthrough in administrative reform with much improvement in operation and services.

The immigration check at the Border Police Station under PA72 used to take up to 5 minutes/ person. The time taken for immigration check has been cut down to less than 60 seconds since December 2013 when the passport scanners were equipped.
“Recently, more and more international tourists have taken direct flights to Khanh Hoa. However, international flights often arrive in Khanh Hoa late at night or early in the morning. We have to work in shifts to assure fast reception and check,” says an official at Border Police Station.
The PA72 Nha Trang Office, Ly Tu Trong Street, Nha Trang, is still open at weekends. “I have just finished my immigration procedure to Cambodia. It does not take long time and the staff are very enthusiastic,” says Tran Thi Muoi, Cam Hai Tay Commune, Cam Lam District. Reportedly, the person can get her passport in 8 days.
“More conveniently, passports can be sent directly to home with the fee ranging between VND30,000 and VND40,000,” says Colonel Phan Van Dung, PA72 Chief. The delivery service saves transport cost and time taken, especially for those living in far locations such as Cam Ranh, Khanh Son or Van Ninh.
Moreover, apart from reception improvement, PA72 has also have raised their staff’s work responsibility and standardized interview questions and process details, facilitating immigration, visa application and temporary residence extension procedures.
Since the beginning of the year, PA72 has cooperated with the post office to deliver thousands of documents directly to home, handled hundreds of temporary residence extension cases and issued visas and temporary residence cards to foreigners. In the time to come, e-filing application plans to be operational to further facilitate immigration procedures.
According to leaders of Khanh Hoa Public Security, PA72 has made great improvement in administrative reform with much focus on political and ideological education and personal responsibility, contributing to positive changes in administrative formalities in immigration.
