Over the past years, collective labor agreements have been focused by enterprises in Khanh Hoa, contributing to creating more harmonious and stable work relationships.

Viet Ngan Basic Construction Company, Dien Thanh Commune, Dien Khanh District, has signed a collective labor agreement with 15 contents beneficial to over 200 workers. Accordingly, employees can benefit from birthday monetary gifts, allowances for lunch, travel, long-term employment, etc. Contents in the collective labor agreement are discussed at annual labor conferences.
 

“Laborers play a vital role in the existence and growth of a company. Therefore, apart from investment in infrastructures, we have provided favorable conditions for our staff to improve their material and spiritual life. Stable life will help them feel safe and secure at work and thus contribute more to the development of the company,” says Dinh Cong Tam, Director of Viet Ngan Basic Construction Company.
 

Long Sinh Company has nearly 200 staff. The company has signed a collective labor agreement with 17 contents beneficial to workers. The contents include  seniority allowances, birthday monetary gifts, allowances for lunch, travel, long-term employment, annual tourism, etc.
 

Nguyen Ba Truong, a worker at Long Sinh Company says, “I have been working here for more than 10 years.  The employer has shown great concern over employees’ rights and interests. I feel satisfied to work here and make contribution to the development of the company.”

Thanks to the effort of trade unions, collective labor agreements have been made to protect laborers’ rights and interests, creating a secure and potentially productive work environment  and thus bringing benefits to both employers and employees.

Companies which have not had trade unions have also been mobilized to sign collective bargaining agreements and  12 companies without trade unions in Khanh Hoa have signed collective bargaining agreements so far.

Phan Quang Dai, Director of Bach Viet Travel Co., Ltd (Bavico International Hotel Nha Trang says its signed collective bargaining agreement has 14 contents beneficial to 154 laborers. They include 10 per cent increase in the regional minimum wage defined by the Government, 90% salary for probation, 13th month pay, VND30,000 lunch allowance/ person/ day, etc.
 

307/ 448 enterprises in Khanh Hoa have trade unions engaged in negotiations for collective bargaining agreements, according to leaders of Khanh Hoa Labor Confederation. Khanh Hoa Labor Confederation plans to enhance its cooperation with local authorities to give guidance on the implementation of Labor Law and Trade Union Law; organize training courses for Trade Union officials; regularly monitor and guide grassroots Trade Unions in the process of negotiation to ensure the quality of bargaining agreements. The collective bargaining agreements are essential to protect laborers’ rights and interests as well as assure their decent living standards, helping to create a secure and potentially productive work environment.
