Gifts were offered to over 29,800 policy beneficiaries, 85,900 in social care and support needs and 9,600 disadvantaged children on the occasion of the 2016 Lunar New Year, according to Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs.
In addition, the Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs sought donations from many businesses and benefactors to offer New Year gifts worth over VND4.6 billion to policy beneficiaries and those in social care and support needs.
Besides, lunar New Year celebrations were held at social service centers; 772,700kg of rice was given to more than 51,500 households dealing with food shortages in the between-crop period; etc.
