Khanh Hoa General Hospital successfully developed the project on satellite hospital in the 2012-2013 period under the approval of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee and the Ministry of Health.
At present, Khanh Hoa General Hospital is the first provincial satellite hospital with much success gained in 3 specialties namely oncology, trauma-orthopedics and cardiac surgery. The hospital has been highly appreciated by the Ministry of Health, says Nguyen Van Xang, Director of Khanh Hoa General Hospital.
In 2016, Khanh Hoa General Hospital plans to develop the second stage of the project on satellite hospital. It has worked with Cho Ray Hospital located in Ho Chi Minh City to continue the application of advanced techniques in the treatment of liver, gastrointestinal endoscopy and cardiac surgery.
In addition, the hospital has focused on the application of advanced techniques in cochlear implant, dentoalveolar and orthognathic surgery and cosmetic surgery. The hospital plans to host the International Meeting on Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in Khanh Hoa this June. This is considered as a great chance for practitioners to meet and share experience and the hospital to build and develop cosmetic specialty in Khanh Hoa.
In 2016, the hospital will specialize in the treatment of the andrological disorders, advanced intervention cardiovascular techniques, clinical and sub-clinical equipment such as the new generation of Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound and so on; and information technology application in management, e-case records, medical insurance process procedures, etc.
The hospital has made a scheme on a VND42 billion medical equipment loan. Accordingly, several modern machines, including MRI, mobile scanners, X-rays, etc will be equipped in the first quarter of 2016.
Besides, labor training has been among strategic priorities. Many physicians will take professional development courses in such countries and territories as Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Germany and in big medical centers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2016.
On-site training has been focused, especially in 3 specialties namely professional development, management soft skill and interaction psychology. Professors and practitioners in Ho Chi Minh City plan to take patients to Khanh Hoa on cosmetic surgery travel. This is considered as a beauty tour dedicated to specific actual needs.
Moreover, an inspection team founded by the hospital is expected to be operational this February to raise staff’s awareness of medical equipment saving and waste prevention.
