The constructions namely “Lighting up rural roads” are among outstanding achievements of the youth in Khanh Hoa Province.

Roads leading to Nghiep Thanh Village, Dien Binh Commune, Dien Khanh District have been lit up under the project “Lighting up rural roads”. “It helps improve road safety and thus facilitate travel at night. All of us, especially children and young people, are so delighted,” says a resident named Nguyen Ngoc Sinh.
This is among many lighting projects developed by Khanh Hoa Youth Union, contributing to improving the image of rural community. Nguyen Van Nhuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Youth Union says, much innovation in content and forms has been made in the socio-economic development and national defense volunteer campaigns, following socio-economic development programs of the province and the Youth Union. Many practical activities have been done, particularly “Lighting up rural roads” constructions.
Up till now, the volunteer lighting work has covered more than 42km of rural roads at a total cost of VND1billion, bringing great joy to local residents in many communities, including Lap Dinh 2 Village, Cam Hoa Commune, Cam Lam District with 56 lamps covering km at a cost of over VND70 million; Khanh Dong Commune and Khanh Binh Commune, Khanh Vinh District with 32 lamps covering 2.5km, VND50 million; Van Thang commune, Van Ninh District with 3km road lighting, VND80 million, etc.
Khanh Hoa Youth Union plans to continue expanding the program on the youth joining hands in new rural community development, focusing on the rural road lighting constructions and living standard improvement. "Accordingly, there will be many rural lighting constructions this March. We are getting preparation for a field survey to solar electricity installation in island communes and the work is expected to begin in Diep Son Island, Van Ninh District," adds Nguyen Van Nhuan.
Effectiveness from the rural road lighting constructions has shown enthusiasm of the youth, contributing to rural community development.
