Various volunteering activities are expected to be held in the Annual March Youth Month by Khanh Hoa Youth Union at all levels, contributing to social development.

The volunteer recruitment for the social work is under way at Khanh Hoa Medical College. Some 200 volunteers have been selected to join the March campaign, according to Nguyen Van The Bao, the college Youth Union Secretary.
“I have joined many volunteer programs, but this is the first time I have registered for medical volunteer trips to the countryside, so I feel a bit worried,” says Vo Thi Anh Tu, a student at Khanh Hoa Medical College.
Some basic skills and knowledge related to food safety, infectious diseases, bacterial contamination survey and so on are required for volunteers.
Volunteer selection is also under way at many other universities, colleges and Youth Union branches. Le Quang Minh, Nha Trang Youth Union Secretary says, nearly 50 volunteers are mobilized to join the peak action month. The launching ceremony is expected to take place on March 1 with the participation of nearly 1,200 young people in Khanh Hoa Province.
According to Nguyen Van Nhuan, Khanh Hoa Youth Union Secretary, this year’s Youth Month is themed “Youth action for a caring community and youth development”. At the launching ceremony, Youth Union members and young people will be mobilized to join such activities as blood donation, traffic safety maintenance, clean-up, etc.
During this Youth Month, Nha Trang Youth Union plans to perform such constructions as putting up celebrities’ biography boards on streets in Nha Trang City, so that tourists and locals can learn more about the national history; planting a southern herb garden at Cau Bong Border Guard Station; supporting health care, providing fishing boats with first-aid kits, etc.
The Youth Union of Khanh Hoa Medical College plans to launch the March campaign with rural lighting work in Diep Son Island Village, Van Ninh District; medical volunteer trips; free check-ups and medications for residents in need.
Nguyen Van The Bao says, “We have just inaugurated the roofing work at Ba Dui Nursery School, Khanh Binh Commune, Khanh Vinh District. Besides constructions planned for this peak month, bookshelves will be installed at primary and junior high schools in disadvantaged communities.”
Van Ninh Youth Union is expected to begin the Youth Month with activities themed “Green Environment” on March 7-17; social security on March 14-20, 85th anniversary of the Youth Union on March 21-31. Accordingly, many activities will include electricity wiring and troubleshooting repair for 20 policy beneficiaries and needy families; rural lighting on 3 roads, roving libraries with 2,000 children’s book titles and so on.
Luu Ngoc Trung, Secretary of Cam Ranh City Youth Union says, “We will organize many activities such as house construction and financial aid for the poor, social skill training and development for children and teenagers; environmental protection, etc.”
With many practical activities, this annual campaign aims at volunteering motivation among young people and their contribution to society.
