Planting trees, going to the market, cooking, washing dishes, making pottery jars are among rewarding experiences that children have had in a picnic held by Tam Viet Nha Trang Life skill Training & Development Center known as Tam Viet Nha Trang Center.

Founded in 2012, Tam Viet Nha Trang Center is a member of Tam Viet Group based in Hanoi. The center is specialized in soft skill and life skill training for children and students, etc with nearly 20,000 participants so far.

Nguyen Anh Thi, Nha Trang City, is so surprised and happy when her 9-year-old daughter does housework with interest when returning home from the lifeskill picnic. She becomes interested in the life skill experiences and likes helping her mom with the cooking. Her mom is so satisfied with her daughter’s positive change.

Nguyen Thi Thu, Apartment No. 2, Le Hong Phong Street, Nha Trang City, has also registered for her 6-year-old daughter named Pham Minh Triet to have a picnic at Tam Viet Nha Trang Center. Her shy daughter becomes more confident in group activities. In the excursion to Lu Cam Pottery Village, Ngoc Hiep, Minh Triet herself made a small vase and proudly gave it to her mother.

Tran Van Anh, Director of the center, says, “Our picnic began in the 2014 summer for our students’ change of air and relaxation after class. The first picnic seemed more successful than expected. Many children and their parents asked for more such picnics to be held. Therefore since then monthly picnics have been organized to different places in Nha Trang City. Our initial 20 members have increased to 100. Children learn how to plant, take care of trees and harvest in a trip themed “We are farmers”.

Other experiences include making cakes, lanterns, pottery items; sightseeing at Lu Cam Pottery Village, Ngoc Hiep, Vinh Ngoc Mat Village, etc; visits to Khanh Hoa Social Service Center, SOS Village and Phuoc Phuc Primate Social Service Institution. The participants have chances to get to know many new things, share difficulties with the less fortunate and thus value life.

Tam Viet Nha Trang Center has jointly held interesting outdoor activities for children of the center and SOS Nha Trang Village, says Do Thi Thuong, an educational staff at SOS Nha Trang Village. Such picnics have brought great benefits appreciated by parents. The outdoor activities have helped children to widen their knowledge about people and life around them as well as promote their skills in communication, creativeness, art, cooperation; understanding and sharing with others.
