Nha Trang Red Cross held the 9th Representative Congress, term 2016-2021, on March 29. In the last term, Nha Trang Red Cross at all levels organized hundreds of fund-raising events to seek donations to flood victims; offered thousands of gifts worth thousands of billions dong to policy beneficiaries in Khanh Hoa; built 17 houses for the poor; organized tens of blood donation drives, collecting more than 4,000 units of blood; provided free medical examination for thousands, etc.
The charity work was worth more than VND22.3 billion, up VND11 billion compared with the earlier term. The financial aid included VND21 billion raised from Nha Trang Red Cross and the rest supported by the city and the higher- level Red Cross.
Nha Trang Red Cross has operated in 100% of wards and communes. 34 grassroots organizations have been founded with 342 branches and 18,000 members so far.
The Executive Committee for the term 2016-2021 was selected and Le Quoc Thinh continued to be appointed as Chairman of Nha Trang Red Cross. On this occasion, Nha Trang Red Cross was awarded a leading emulation flag for 5 years (2011-2016) by the National Red Cross.
