Ninh Hoa Town Youth Union’s volunteer campaign has drawn the participation of many Youth Union members and young adults in various practical activities for community sake.

Many roads in the communes of Ninh Phung, Ninh Binh, Ninh Xuan in Ninh Hoa Province have been lit up thanks to the lighting system installed by Ninh Hoa Town Youth Union. “The volunteer lighting work helps improve road safety,” says Truong Be, Van Thanh Village, Ninh Xuan Commune. “The road lighting enhances safety and security at night. All of us are so delighted,” adds Duong Dinh, Xuan Hoa 2 Village, Ninh Phung Commune.
Ninh Hoa Town Youth Union jointly installed road lighting systems at a total cost of over VND150 million under the new rural construction program in 2015, helping improve road safety and thus facilitate travel at night. The work was in response to the mobilization movement on young people’s joint effort in civic culture and new rural construction, according to Pham Cuong Quoc, Secretary of Ninh Hoa Town Youth Union.
In addition, young people in Ninh Hoa Town have also joined socio-economic development activities and achieved satisfactory results highly appreciated by local authorities. Outstanding activities have included fund-raising events for charity with the participations of over 8,500 young people with VND500 million proceeds, 100 trees planted at Ninh Hoa – Van Ninh Martyr Cemetery, 2,350 young people donating 1,298 safe blood units, etc.
Other youth constructions have included keeping traffic safety around 37 schools; traffic safety and security on 27km of roads; doing charity for community health, donating 200 medicines to local residents; 496 gifts and medications worth VND50 million to residents in Ninh Quang Commune, etc.
Besides, Ninh Hoa Youth Union has provided loan support and advanced technological application in production. Consultancy was given to Ninh Hoa District People’s Committee on the allocation of job creation and study capital and other funding as loans worth over VND29 billion offered to 1,617 households in 2015.
“The achievements are thanks to the youth’s enthusiasm, great effort and contribution to the community. Teenagers and young adults will continue their effort to contribute to the local development, serving local residents’ legitimate needs as well as deserving the trust of the government and people,” says Pham Cuong Quoc.
Ninh Hoa Youth Union has received many certificates of merit such as excellent certificates of merit in teenager and Youth Union tasks for 3 successive years from 2013 to 2015 by the Central Youth Union; recognized as a leading all-round excellence in teenager and Youth Union tasks; and an excellent labor collective by Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, etc from 2013 to 2015 and so on. “The volunteer youth campaign has much expanded, drawing the participation of many people in practical activities, serving the youth’s legitimate needs and contributing to the local socio-economic growth," says Huynh Phuong, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Youth Union.
