Composite fishing ship Truong Sa 2 launched

Nha Trang University's Institute for Ship Research & Development launched the composite fishing ship into Hon Ro waters, Phuoc Dong Commune, Nha Trang City on April 14. This is the third composite fishing ship ever built under the Decree 67 in Khanh Hoa Province.


The ship is named Truong Sa 2-2016 No. KH 99146-TS owned by Mai Thanh Phuc, Phuoc Dong Commune. The 400 CV ship is 19m long, 5.72m wide and 3m high. It includes 5 lower decks for refrigeration and 1 for storage of fishing nets.
 

The ship is able to carry 50 tons of fish. The ship building cost is nearly VND5 billion, 95% of which is funded by preferential loans from the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment & Development of Vietnam (BIDV), Khanh Hoa Branch. Nha Trang City University plans to launch 8 other composite ships by the end of 2016.
