Vocational training for rural laborers has been focused in Dien Khanh District, contributing to job creation, income increase and living standard improvement.
 

Le Duy Toan, a poor farmer in Village 1, Dien Phu Commune, has been provided a VND20 million loan from the Bank for Social Policies thanks to the support of the commune Farmers’ Association. The capital has been invested in husbandry expansion. He has been also provided veterinary and technical training held by Khanh Hoa Agriculture Promotion Center. Until now, he has paid off the loan, built a new house and afforded his children’s schooling.
 

The same thing has happened to Huynh Thi Kim Oanh in Village 1, Dien Phu Commune. After attending livestock husbandry classes, she has expanded her farming with nearly 500 chickens and 50 pigs, earning an average income of VD120 million/ year. Her living standard has much improved.
 

The Prime Minister’s project on vocational training for rural workers till 2020 has been effectively implemented in Dien Khanh District, contributing greatly to job creation, income increase and living standard improvement in rural areas, according to leaders of Dien Khanh Division of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs.
 

20 vocational classes on cultivation, farming, husbandry, veterinary medicine, garment, handicraft, cooking  etc are opened every year with the attendance of nearly 1,000 rural laborers. Over of 80% of the attendants have had stable jobs thanks to the assistance from the vocational classes and the State support policies.


“Vocational training for rural laborers is always our focus with priority given to ethnic minority people, policy beneficiaries, the disabled, the poor, etc. The district plans to continue enhancing the propaganda to raise vocational awareness of rural laborers,” says Vo Van Nhu, Chief of Dien Khanh District Division of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs.
 

The 2016 vocational training in Dien Khanh District specializes in such sectors as sewing, household service, fishery processing, refrigeration, carpentry, etc; effective training models; vocational training linked with employment demand, businesses’ involvement in practice training and assessment with employment opportunities offered to participants after the classes, etc.
 

The district Division of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs plans to cooperate with relevant agencies and communities to conduct supervision over the vocational training for rural laborers to assure smooth implementation of the vocational training project.
