Over the past years, Khanh Hoa Association for the Elderly at all levels has held many activities to mobilize its members to help protect the natural environment.

Truong Van Thap, Head of the Vo Cang Village Branch for the Elderly, Vinh Trung Commune, Nha Trang City voluntarily pushes a wheelbarrow to collect trash everyday. He has also mobilized others to follow trash service regulations and join the clean-up campaign to create a healthier environment for 6 years now. In addition, hundreds of road side trees have been planted to add attraction to the natural landscape as well as contribute to environmental protection.
 
“By small actions, I hope everyone becomes more aware of environmental responsibility,” says Truong Van Thap. Members of Vo Cang Village Branch for the Elderly have been commended and awarded for their meaningful activities.
 
In addition, Ninh Binh Commune Association for the Elderly, Ninh Hoa Town has also urged everyone to take part in trash collection models. Accordingly, every afternoon, all residents join clean-up effort to keep the environment in their communities clean and green.
 
Dien Lac Commune Association for the Elderly, Dien Khanh District has been known for several practical environmental protection activities. Many members have voluntarily donated hundreds of square meters to widen 22 rural roads totaling 12km and contributed to the trash collection fund. Much effort has been made to raise public awareness of environmental protection.
 
137/137 affiliations have responded to the tree cultivation campaign with 300,000 trees of all kinds planted and protected in 2015. The tree cultivation campaign is launched and maintained every year, according to Le Xuan Hanh, Chief of the Representative Board of Khanh Hoa Association for the Elderly. 
 
Moreover, Khanh Hoa Association for the Elderly has signed a cooperation program on environmental protection with Khanh Hoa Department of Natural Resources & Environment. The program has facilitated the Association for the Elderly at all levels to contribute ideas and suggestions on natural resource and environment policies, helping to raise public environmental responsibility. “In the time to come, we plan to continue expanding the elderly’s engagement in environmental protection campaign as well as honoring outstanding individuals and organizations,” says Le Xuan Hanh.
