Khanh Hoa Young Doctors’ Association has held various voluntary medical activities, contributing to improving the local health care, especially in remote areas.

Khanh Hoa Young Doctors’ Association (Khanh Hoa Youth Federation) was founded in April 2014. Until now, 9 Young Doctors’ Clubs are under Khanh Hoa Young Doctors’ Association with more than 350 members. Most of them are working at general hospitals, medical schools and institutions.
 

Since its foundation, Khanh Hoa Young Doctors’ Association has maintained its voluntary health care and social security work. Their activities have included “Young doctors following Uncle Ho’s teachings, volunteering for the community’s health” with annual medical examination and medication worth VND70 million in total, benefiting 200 residents in Vinh Tho Ward, Nha Trang City; humanitarian medical examination and treatment worth over VND300 million for 800 kids in Lien Sang Commune, Khanh Vinh District and so on, according to Lam Quang Chung, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Health, Chairman of  Khanh Hoa Young Doctors’ Association.
 

Most recently, Khanh Hoa Young Doctors’ Association in partnership with Khanh Hoa Union of Friendship Organizations and Ho Chi Minh City Social Work Center has given voluntary medical examination at a total cost of more than VND100 million to 500 people in Ninh Quang Commune, Ninh Hoa Town. The volunteer activities have left good impression on local residents.
 

“I have neck pain and a backache with movement difficulties. I find inconvenient to travel far for examination. Thanks to the voluntary medical trip of the Young Doctors’ Club, I have leant that I am suffering from Spondylosis. I have been instructed to do physical therapy to help alleviate pain,” says a resident named Hoang Van Phong in Ninh Hoa Town.


In addition, Khanh Hoa Young Doctors’ Association together with Young Doctors’ Clubs has offered gifts and awarded scholarships worth hundreds of million dongs to poor children and families. The Young Doctors’ Clubs have also joined many social security activities, confirms Pham Tien, Permanent Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa Young Doctors’ Association.
 

Dien Khanh District Young Doctors’ Club has provided health consulting and 120 gifts worth VND50 million for the needy; and free eye surgery at a total cost of VND112 million for 141 patients. Cam Lam District Young Doctors’ Club has offered more than 100 gifts to the aged.  Khanh Hoa General Hospital’s Young Doctors’ Club has taken 5 charity trips worth over VND100 million, etc.


“In 2016, we plan to continue charity activities, concluding free medical examination and medications given to 10,000 residents, free eye surgery for 20 senior citizens; cancer screening for 100 residents, blood donor mobilization with 8,000 units of safe blood donated,” says Lam Quang Chung.
 

Khanh Hoa Young Doctors’ Association has been awarded a certificate of merit by the Ministry of Health for great effort in volunteering work for the community sake. Many groups and individuals have been commended and awarded by the Central Youth Union and Vietnam Youth Federation for their excellent achievements in volunteering work.
 

Khanh Hoa Young Doctors’ Association plans to take a charity medical trip to Laos this August to provide free check-ups for 1,500 residents in Attapu Province; gifts and medications worth VND100 million for the needy. “In the time to come, we will continue seeking donations from organizations and agencies, businesses to improve the workforce, operation quality and network of Khanh Hoa Young Doctors’ Association. Simultaneously, Khanh Hoa Youth Federation will organize various activities to provide young doctors with opportunities to meet, learn and share experience. The volunteer opportunities have provided valuable real-life experiences,   contributing to health care in remote areas,” says Nguyen Van Nhuan, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Youth Federation.
