The National Road 27B runs through Khanh Hoa Province.

The National Road 27B to Da Lat runs through Cam Ranh City, Khanh Hoa Province for 13km with a 6m lane and 1.5m roadsides, connecting to the National Road 1A from Cam Thinh Dong through Cam Thinh Tay Commune to the border section of Ninh Thuan Province. This is a major trade route between Khanh Hoa and neighboring provinces.

However, the road had been in poor conditions due to long term use. “The damaged road was dangerously strewn with potholes cracked and heavy dust," says a resident named Hoang Tan Phat whose house is located on the National Road 27B in Cam Thinh Tay Commune. "The road damage affected traffic safety, especially at night,” adds a truck driver named Nguyen Van On.

To assure traffic safety, Vietnam Road Administration has approved the funding for the road work on 4 sections, including Km44+000 - km44+100; km44+400 - km45+000; km45+420 - km45+900; km46+500 - km46+700. Simultaneously, the Road Administration has authorized Khanh Hoa Department of Transport to open a construction bidding and supervise the execution process and quality.

“The road work has been completed and put into operation. The project included road surface asphalt concreted at a total cost of over VND3.4 billion. The contractor cooperated with Cam Ranh City to take many measures to assure traffic safety during the road work. Traffic control booths were set up to give instructions to drivers. Warning signs and barriers with lights were installed a long distance from the road work site to inform drivers to take extra caution and adjust driving speed,” says Nguyen Van Truc, Chief of the Traffic Infrastructure Management Office,  Khanh Hoa Department of Transport.

The National Road 27B is a busy and high-capacity road with lots of vehicles, especially trucks carrying vegetables and building materials. Most of the road work had been carried out throughout the night so the repair work had not caused much traffic disruption, according to Nguyen Xuan Thinh, Director of Company 71.
