Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training has just held an exchange program among 43 primary schools under the new school model VNEN in Nha Trang City. The event took place at Loc Tho Primary School, providing opportunities for kids to develop independence and creativity which they had learnt and experienced under the new school model.
This is the first time the exchange program has been organized at provincial level. Nearly 170 primary students from second- to fifth-graders together with teaching and management staff joined the event which included 4 categories with various interesting activities.
In the greeting and chorus show, 8 teams from divisions of education and training featured the image of many regions in Khanh Hoa as well as introduced the new school model. Particularly, performances by teams from Ninh Hoa, Cam Ranh and Nha Trang were praised for their perfect teamwork.
Students divided into grade groups in the public speaking event had great impression by their confidence with smart and witty answers, creative suggestions and ideas for traffic safety, a green and convenient library in class, etc.
Maybe, the most exciting show was called “Skillful teambuilding leader”. Each team had 40 players and 2 leaders. All the new friends quickly cooperated to bring impressive performances.
In the exhibition event, many impressive products made by teachers, students and their parents as well were on display. Each product created with passion, enthusiasm and creativity in research delivered a meaningful message. The joint effort showed the success in engaging parents and the society in support of their children's learning. The exhibits by Cam Ranh, Ninh Hoa, Nha Trang and Cam Lam were highly valued for abundant items, harmony in color and shape; persuasive presentation, etc, according to the evaluation of the jury.
“Schools and students have closely cooperated under the new school model which is designed to trigger learners' interest and motivation to get involved, learn and share,” says Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Vice-Principal of Dien Dien Primary School, Dien Khanh District.
Students have shown their confidence in speaking up their thought and knowledge; developing communication and cooperation skills; and applying what they have learnt at school in real activities. This is also a chance for management staff to evaluate the success of the teaching method innovation under the new school model to promote students’ confidence and self management skills, contributing to improving primary education, according to Hoang Thi Ly, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Education & Training.
